Peggy Reynolds, IBLCE

Design and WordPress Development, Responsive (Mobile-Friendly)

The client, a certified holistic health practitioner, craniosacral therapist, and lactation consultant, wanted to redesign and modernize her old WordPress website. She also wanted to keep the current on-site SEO in place.

The old design was quite out-of-date, clunky, and generic, using just one navy blue color throughout. The old design didn’t have the feeling of a healer’s presence, so the goal for the design was to soften the color scheme, fonts, and overall flow to better represent Peggy’s healing hands and practice.

For the home page’s main header image, I used a nice picture of Peggy in a soft purple Sweater and then also used that purple color in her logo, tying them together visually as the first impression on the Home page above the fold. That same purple was used around the site as an accent color.

I created a simple logo using a vector graphic of hands paired with Peggy’s name. The theme of hands is sprinkled throughout the website to represent that Peggy works frequently with her hands to provide healing therapies.

I also used a second image of Peggy in her purple sweater standing in front of a green plant. I then used the theme of plant images throughout the site as a way to represent a holistic and therapeutic feeling. I also found delicate imagery of babies and people receiving kind touch or in calm poses to visually showcase Peggy’s services.

I used WordPress for custom responsive development on the final site.
